My career has been varied. The common thread running throughout my career is curiosity about people, their behaviour and how they can be supported to change unhelpful habits.

TRAINING, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Before embarking on Counselling and Psychotherapy training I worked in marketing, then in nutrition and stress management. Subsequently I worked for five years for Family Lives, counselling individuals to support them in parenting their families, before embarking on training as a Couples Counsellor.

I have a Masters degree in Relationship Therapy (validated by University of Hull and accredited by BACP). I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP). I take my membership seriously and this means that I work in accordance with a strict ethical framework and undertake regular supervision, in which client confidentiality is maintained fully. I comply with current data protection legislation and the security of client information is of upmost importance.  My practice is fully insured.

I am a Registered Relate Counsellor and continue to work for Relate counselling individuals, couples and families.

I keep up to date with developments in the field. I have undergone extensive further training, including mental health issues, trauma, grief and loss and specialist training in Couple Therapy for Depression (IAPT), Supporting People with Autism Spectrum Conditions and Working with Couple Relationships affected by Asperger Syndrome.
